    ITER is a unique, first of a kind project that aims to demonstrate the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy.

     

    WOOD one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in world’s largest fusion reactor.

    As construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include balance of plant and the Tokomak itself. Join us and play a part in the international effort to make fusion a viable source of almost limitless, carbon-free energy.

     

    Wood is recruiting for a Junior & Established Quantity Surveyor & Cost Estimator with 2 to 15 years of experience to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France. 

    He/She will be responsible for: 

    • Takes direction from and reports directly to the CMA Senior Manager and the Contract Management Team Leader
    • Directly responsbile for the quantitative survey of the activity of the contractors compared to the procurement contract
    • Produce to the Procurement and Contrat Manager tangible elements in order to advice the variation claim management as the case may arise
    • To provide a focus on achieving the success of the project whilst at the same time respecting the commercial and business interests all the parties
    • Preparing CWP cost estimates using the cost estimating tool
    • Reporting status of estimates under development
    • Providins assistance to the Cost Controller for forecasting purposes and developing the Estimate To Complete (ETC)
    • Preparing estimating norms against actuals once construction has started
    • Support Program re-estimating stage (based on actual contacted rates) when major contracts will be awarded
    • Supporting estimating activities during the Main Contract tendering processes:
      • Build-up the Tender Pricing Sheet (corresponding to a Bill of Quantities) including schedule of price, unit rates and quantities
      • Review and consolidate the cost estimates of the contract (pre-Tender Contract estimate / Tender Pricing Sheet preparation / Commercial Bid Tabulation assessment report, based on proper justification and benchmarking

    Compétences / Qualifications

    Specific skills :

    • International experience managing :
      • Engineering and construction cost estimates of equipment, materials and installation in a large scale project environment 
      • QS or contracts of construction equipment and materials in a large scale project environment
    • Technical knowledge of the requirements for nuclear equipment and plants 
    • Execution of projects in a highly regulatedenvironment, preferably nuclear nuclear 
    • Executed and management of At Risk work of consideration consequence
    • Worked effectively in a joint venture environment 
    • Leadership of a multi-national joint venture(s) and cognisance of different cultural requirements
    • Experience in :
      • Program and project management including the establisment and maintenance of complex and integrated cost estimates
      • Transition & transformation of an organisation to work and achieve collaboratively
    • 5 years experience of :
      • Major International (multi-$bn) EPC/EPC(m)
      • QS or contract management and MAjor international experience of business

    Fluent in English, with additional French preferred

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with creative solution and problem solving skills
